About the Artist

Born and raised in Slidell, Louisiana, and now rooted in the creative energy of Austin, Texas, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, my journey through art began with my mom, Libby, a passionate crafter who sparked my artistic spirit. From early ceramics classes to piano lessons, my fascination with creativity exploded. By high school, I was immersed in both music and visual arts, devouring every class and skill I could.

Initially drawn to Loyola of New Orleans on a music scholarship, I transferred to the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now University of Louisiana Lafayette) to pursue psychology with a minor in English. Graduate studies at Texas A&M University followed, culminating in a Ph.D. in 1999, propelling me into a fulfilling career in educational and psychological testing.

Today, as the Director of Research and Development at PRO-ED, Inc., I blend my academic discipline with a profound passion for creating art. I aspire to craft artwork that reflect the boundless beauty and wonder I see in the world. My goal is to offer collectors a moment of connection—between realism and imagination, stillness and movement.

As a bird enthusiast and someone who has raised and cared for birds, I love painting birds. And birds are more than just my muses — they’re voices of the wild, reminders of balance, beauty, and fragility. In gratitude for their inspiration, I support the American Bird Conservancy, an organization devoted to protecting bird species and their habitats throughout the Americas. This commitment is part of my studio’s annual giving — an expression of appreciation for the living subjects that fill my canvases with color and life.
